For Daniel Assouline, UpClick Was Just the Beginning

A man with a passion for sea and love of boating is now breathing fresh air into Lavasoft by building the next generation of Ad-Aware products.

Does this look odd? No, it should not because the basic skills needed in boating and steering an IT company are perhaps the same.

What started as antispyware has now grown into a sizable set to include comprehensive malware protection. As of 2013, Lavasoft has unveiled Ad-Aware version 10 available in three core versions, and now version 11 is just around the corner.

Daniel Assouline, prior to his present engagement as CEO of Lavasoft, was CEO of UpClick.com, a market leader which boasts of being one of the highest converting e-commerce platforms in the industry. Building this company into a true market leader required excellent leadership skills.

E-commerce is a multi-trillion dollar market worldwide with perhaps only 30% to 40% potential tapped so far. Starts-ups as well as experienced entrepreneurs, who venture into digital marketing, need solutions at break neck speed.

Leaders of companies that offer e-commerce solutions have got to set a blistering pace to grab a chunk of the market, otherwise competition will snatch the initiative.

In an information technology based company, little time is available to train people. Team members themselves must come with a set of skills and deliver results. Daniel Assouline has the capacity and the leadership qualities to create an environment where this is possible.

Assouline, presently CEO at Lavasoft, was born in Montreal, Canada in 1969. He has lived in Congo (now Zaire), Guadeloupe, France, USA, and Mexico. Each of these countries has provided him unique and pleasant experiences.
